How To “Sell Your Couture” at The Couture Exchange!

It’s like trading with your girlfriends!
Local
Drop Off Directions:
1.
Go through your closet and find all the Couture handbags,
outerwear, jackets, jeans, (& certain clothing items), shoes,
and accessories that you seldom wear
(but are in great shape!). Remember the two-year rule?
Clothing must be freshly cleaned, pressed, and on hangers. Fees will
be charged for any items that require refurbishing. Then make a list
of the items you are bringing in and pack them up.
2.
Drop by our Showroom in Shrewsbury, NJ during regular
business hours or call for an appointment at another time.
3.
If possible, we will separate the “Items For Evaluation”
from the “No Thank You’s” on the spot. If that is not possible
at that time, we will provide you with a receipt so you can “Drop
& Run”. You can pick up your “No Thank You’s” on the
next business day. We
are only interested in 100% authentic merchandise. We charge an
annual fee of $15 to be in our “Consignment Club”.
4. We will then
inventory each item and set a fair selling price based on its
condition & marketability.
Newer items will obviously call for higher prices & items
with authenticity documents, receipts, tags, sleepers, boxes, etc.
will also yield a higher price. If there is a minimum you are
willing to accept for a specific item, please let us know up front
so we may determine if we can work with that item. All sale proceeds
are split 50/50.
5.
Your items will be displayed in our Showroom and some items
will also be listed in our Online Boutique for worldwide exposure.
Our Consignment agreement must be signed prior to your items
going into inventory.

6.
When your item sells, consignors are paid once per month.
You may either accumulate credit towards new items or have a
check sent to you by request.
- Your items will be
displayed in our Boutique/Showroom for a period of 90 days.
After 60 days we will mark your item down 25%.
If your item does not sell within the 90 day window, you
have two choices. You
may pick up your items or you may donate your items to the
“Bargain Basement”. All items in the “Bargain Basement” are
drastically reduced in price and 50% of the proceeds are donated
to “Jason’s
Dreams For Kids” a
Red Bank, NJ
based local charity that brings happiness to terminally ill
children.
PLEASE REMEMBER: Some designers are
more popular than others so, although we would love to, we cannot
accept all items presented to us for sale.
Our Clients come to us because we offer
only fabulous Authentic Couture items that have been well cared for.
We will NEVER accept anything less. We offer a money back guarantee
on authenticity and sellers are not paid unless their items are
authentic.

Please give us as much detail as you can in your description.
Please mention authenticity docs, tags, sleepers, receipts, boxes,
etc. regarding each item. If you have a minimum you are willing to
accept for an item, please let us know up front so we may determine
whether or not we can work with that item. All items must be 100%
authentic. Please do not inquire if you have any doubts about
authenticity. You will not be paid unless the items are authentic.
2.
After we evaluate your list, we will email you which items we
are interested in selling for you. We will send you complete mailing
instructions at that time along with our “Sell Your Couture”
agreement. Please include the original signed “Sell Your
Couture” consignment agreement with your items when you ship them.
We also require a $25 refundable sign up fee to cover return
shipping in case we have to return any items to you. (If either your
items don’t sell or have been grossly misrepresented and need to
be returned). You can Paypal the fee to jennzclozet@yahoo.com
or send a check in with your agreement. This fee will be refunded to
you if everything goes smoothly.
3.
When we receive your items, we will inspect each item and set
a fair selling price based on its condition & marketability.
Newer items and items with authenticity documents will yield higher
prices. All sale proceeds are split 50/50.
4.
Your items will typically be inventoried within one week of
receipt. Your items will be displayed in our New Jersey Showroom
immediately and certain items may be listed on our Online Boutique

5.
When your item
sells, we will mail you a check once per month. If you wish to use
Paypal we can also arrange that.
6.
Your items will be
displayed in our Showroom for 90 days. After 60 days, we will mark

The Couture Exchange, LLC reserves the right to return merchandise
to you (at your expense) upon final “in person” inspection if
the item has been misrepresented in any way. If we have to send your
item back because we believe that it is not authentic, then a $25
inconvenience fee will be charged for the loss of our time. We are
only interested in 100% authentic merchandise and will NEVER accept
anything less!

The
Couture Exchange was developed to give you- The Couture Addict- a great
place to get fabulous haute finds at a fraction of their original price! We
carry
Couture only Handbags, Shoes,
Outerwear, Jackets, Jeans, Tees, Dresses & Accessories.
Some
items are New with all their tags, etc., some items are Pre-Loved, and some are
fabulous Vintage Classics! Most of our merchandise comes from the closets of the
wealthy women in the area (The Jersey ‘burbs) and when they are bored with
their couture, we resell it for them! We
have a showroom in beautiful Shrewsbury, NJ! (a
block from Red Bank, NJ ) & less than an hour from NYC and all hot North
Jersey Malls! We live in a fabulous area, but there are not many local places to
score true couture. So finally--our wait is over!

we have a real showroom in New Jersey that is open to the public where you can
come in and touch, feel and try on our merchandise before you commit. You can
buy in person or you can buy online with complete confidence because we have a 100%
authenticity guarantee on
all our items (see our policy) we have no patience for the abuse of our
favorite designers! I know a lot of us have tried buying online through auctions
and unfamiliar sites that seem to have no location, but you do not really know
what you are getting until it arrives and by then it can be too late. It is
too risky! I do not know about you, but I have been burned one too many times.

is our job to carefully inspect and screen all items presented to us for resale.
We always try to get as much documentation, original packaging, etc. as possible
for pre-loved items. Some of our new items are a result of my scouring
sales, outlets, and discount shops for great deals. It’s like having your own
personal shopper!

How
I Got The Disease!
How did it all start? Well,
as a young gal of 16 I got a job in sales at a local high end designer boutique.
My job was to dress Successful Businesswomen, Ladies Who Lunch, and Local
Society Wives. These women were my influence. That is where I learned about all
the bad stuff–Diamonds, Couture Handbags, and High End Fashion. My room was
literally wallpapered with Chanel ads featuring Linda, Christie, and the gang. I
even did my high school term paper on Chanel!
One day my manager at the shop said to me, Retail is great, but if you
want to afford this stuff you better choose another career.
Well,
at 19 I took her advice and started a new career. I have enjoyed success for the
last 13 years, but I was in such a conservative industry. I could finally afford
the good stuff, but I was always stuck in stuffy suits! Booooring! So my
signature trademark at the office was my Handbags, Shoes & Accessories.
They were my only true outlet for expression! I love love love to shop
and get great deals so why not make a career out of that?
I got the idea because I thought, Who
does not love Couture? And who does not love a great deal? If there was a
place where I could go and get great deals on Fabulous Couture, I would go there
all time, at least every week! That
is
