Local Drop Off Directions:

Step 1:

Go through your closet and find all the couture handbags, shoes and accessories that you seldom wear (but are in great shape!). Remember the two-year rule? Then make a list of the items you are bringing in and pack them up.
 

Step 2:

Drop by either of our showrooms in Shrewsbury or Westfield NJ during regular business hours. We are open 7 days a week and appointments are not necessary. We try to make it as convenient as possible.
 

Step 3:

If possible, we will seperate the "Items For Evaluation" from the "No Thank You's" on the spot. If that is not possible at that time, we will provide you with a receipt so you can "Drop & Run." You can pick up your "No Thank You's" on the next business day. We are only interested in 100% authentic merchandise. An additional fee will be charged for reconditioning items that require TLC. This pays for our supplies and time. We charge an annual fee of $15 to be in our "Consignment Club" which covers an unlimited amount of items.
 

Step 4:

We will then inventory each item and set a fair selling price based on its condition & marketability. Newer and in demand items will obviously call for higher prices & items with authenticity documents, receipts, tags, sleepers, boxes, etc. will also yield a higher price. If there is a minimum amount you are willing to accept for a specific item, please let us know up front so we may determine if we can work with that item. All sale proceeds are split 50/50.
 

Step 5:

Your items will be displayed in our showroom and some items will also be listed in our Online Boutique www.thecoutureexchange.com for worldwide exposure. Our Consignment Agreement must be signed prior to your items going into inventory.
 

Step 6:

When your item sells you receive half of the net sales price. You may either accumulate a store merchandise credit or have a check sent to you by request. Checks are sent on a monthly basis by request only and are sent out by mid month of the month following the request. We do not call you when your item sells - our volume of consignors prohibits us from doing this so it is important that you call in periodically to check in on your account. Store credit can be used anytime so be sure to check your account when you come in to shop!
 

Step 7:

Your items will be displayed in our Boutique/Showroom for a period of 90 days. Seasonal items may be displayed for less than 90 days depending on when in the season they were brought in. After 60 days all items are marked down 25%. If your item does not sell within the 90 day window, you have two choices. You may pick up your items or you may donate your items to the "Bargain Basement." All items in the "Bargain Basement" are drastically reduced in price and 50% of the proceeds are donated to a local charity.
 
PLEASE REMEMBER: Some designers are more popular than others so although we would love to, we cannot accept all items presented to us for sale. It is our sole discretion as to which items we select for resale. Our customers' preferences must be our selection guidelines.
